needs some texture or shading or something on the white.
not sure what it's meant to be - I'd guess the twins from the matrix revolutions, but onyl because i saw the filename.
Try applying a white overlay onto the worm at about 30% and lowering the overall opacity then saving as png 24 for a cool effect.

And as for texture, what did they have for the texture in the movie?

Texture. Basically don't make the hair just one flat colour, it doesn't add depth.
Add shading. I would say add highlights too but you can't highlight white...

Hm i think on one of my other version of him, i added sum mixtures of white and grey. How about that? I can post it later if u think that'd turn out best. A one color dude is much harder than any random dude.

I made this with a tutorial i found then changed it a little, there is no bevel effect used just inner shadows at different angles and colours and stuff.

this may sound daft, but why not just use a bevel filter? they were made for a reason....

a bevel filter is predictable....you can tell when one is used and when one isn't...

surely thats the whole point, I want a bevel effect, i'll use a bevel filter, i want a shadow effect, i'll use a shadow filter.
You dont become any more l33t by doing things the hard way....

it's hard to explain readme....almost every single bevel you've seen me make was "real"
no cheap little filter....
you have much more control when you make it the long harder way.....
and it looks better....
where is squirrel now! he'd have something to say about this...
