The melon doesn't look like it's in the animation, more if it's just... there, and it doesn't look like the hand is moving, more like the sword is falling forward.

well..worms don't use swords....but you can look at the battle ax while it's being used to see how that one swings and work from there pope!
otherwise...i really like the juice squirting out as he's chopping it! i like the smoke animation...especially how realistic it looks when it is disappearing!

Motion blur/smoke effect I guess. I was just pissing around. It was originally a melon in a guillotine (to help me write a tutorial) but then I added a worm instead...

Well, the sword is quite guillotine-like... And yes, it would look much better if he pulled back the sword first.

And yeah igw, very bad pun. No tweening involved; just 72 frames of notching up the gaussian blur higher and higher until the hand disappeared and doing the reverse. Took ages but it was worth it since I think it's quite cool looking.

Also figured out how to make loads of different vision effects. Heat, ultra violet and some other freaky ones.
