I have the ability to program now... Somewhat. I was wondering if would be any good if I made a database that told everything about the worms weapons? The downside of making it is: that people can just use WWP's wormapedia if they even have that game or just easily find out themselves, and if that is the case, making the program would be pointless.

But... The good things is that my program will (hopefully) be a nice clean interface to read off of and will have a bit more than the wormapedia. I'm not the king of programming, but I can add some pretty nice things, like a music player and maybe a quick search. And not to mention, I could weapons that don't exist *cough*WWWWA*cough*

Good idea? Program good? No?

I only have one other program out on the net, it's at this website http://knd.org.uk/~zippy/geshark/ and it's only beta.

Make sure you hav the right .NET Framework for it to work if you dl it.

I probalb ywouldn't use it. I know all the weapons pretty much anyway :P

But it would be a good project to do, to get better at programming and designing interfaces and such.

Actually HarrY, the program would be for people who have way less of a knowledge as you. And adding weapons that don't exist could be a big plus.

Its a good idea. As long as you market it well. (By marketing I mean make sure the worming community can reach it well. Hand banners out etc. Get zog to put one up here)

And, what IS your obsession with weapons that dont exist?

eh zippy, go for it bro.

Countless times ive started building something, then realized that logic never works out the way you think its going to. So you work around, and play with syuff untill you learn how to get er done.

Though a tool nearly no one well use, for your own learning experence, try it.

And if your doing this in a web based interface, remembe rthat SQL should never be on the php pages that you display to your users :P

Pioneer, no way in hell can I make a Fiddler? My obsession with weapons that don't exist are because you can expand so far with them. You could make such a better weapon.

oh btw, IMO in a real app it's better not including a music player.. if people want music they can play it themselves. The more time you spend on making the important features good the better. Less functionality with more quality > more functionality and poor quality... or so my software engineering lecturer reckons.

Well, I doubt if this changes anything, but... The music will not play when the app loads. It's just a little option they CAN use to play it themself. Some of these things actually don't take that long to do.
