I've watched many more episodes of the Simpsons than Family Guy, but that's only because we get 2 Simpsons episodes every day here, free to air, and Family Guy is only on cable.

From what I've seen, Family Guy is like a version of Simpsons for older people, like 15-30 years old, and also from what I've seen, Family Guy is a lot more funny.

Simpsons by miles please. I watched an episode of family Guy once upon a time. It just wasnt my taste.

Family Guy is sort of hit and miss. There are some episodes that are hilarious and some episodes that are just stupid. There are some jokes that are really obvious, and there are other jokes that you won't get unless you can recognize what person/show/group/whatever they're satirizing.

Whereas, normally, Simpsons is easy to get and not so hit-and-miss with the comedy factor (not that Family Guy is really irregular, just that Simpsons hits hilarity more often overall).

That said, I prefer the older seasons of Simpsons to Family Guy, but I prefer Family Guy to the newer seasons of Simpsons.
