It looks like the worms you have in your avatar, which looks good (only in 3D of course).

i think it's a pretty good attempt. you could always keep working on it, smoothing it out and tweeking it, or you could just call it Grandpa Worm.

Evil Pixel showed me a good 3D editing website. I lost the link though since someone erased all of the old PMs..
All pixels know how to make 3D objects.

I said updated, not completed :p

I KNOW I need to smooth it out quite a bit, I was looking for other forms of advice about ti, beyond smoothing.

yes I will be making it look like my sigworm at some point, but first I gotta refine the initial shape of the worm.

I'll also open a thread in Team17 about my art, where I'll be doing various sigworms from there, as well.

another update, this is nearing the final version of it. I think I'm gunna need to get Kjatte or Dim from the T17 forums to help me smooth out the lips, but other than that I'm just about done. I may smooth the part where the tail comes to meet the body, as it's uneven, but it doesn't look wrong or bad or anything, so I may just leave it as it is.
anyway, here's an ALMOST finished version:

It's all you; worm heads have always been disproportionately huge.

exactly. the worm likely isn't much bigger than the W4M worms

this bottom lip may well be a lot more of a hassle than I figured. it seems that one of the 2 people I know with Maya is just as stuck as I am with the bottom lip. he can't think of any way to smooth out that bottom lip without making it completely unworkable (if that's even a word).

if I can't manage to smooth the lower lip well enough, I may end up having to just make a worm model with no emotions. it would be almost impossible to move that mouth to be expressive at all if I do what it looks like I may end up having to do (which is adding something like 3 rows of vertices to the existing 3 that are on the lower lip).

hopfully I can get around it, but I'm not really seeing how, at this point.

Use a mesh-smooth, although that might go by a different name but I know in 3DS Max it's in the modify tab.
