I used to play the game tho, but then I stopped because RS2 came about and my friend that played the game with me's names got hacked. So it really wasn't that fun anymore.

There ARE people who play Runescape (im not one, its not i dont like it, its just i never played it) so you can either love it, hate it, or just dont care.

I'm not a big MMORPG player but I have tried Runescape, and I couldn't even be bothered to get past the tutorial. It was slow, boring and ugly. The "Poor man's" MMORPG ass I call it.
If anyone wants a good MMO with no monthly charge, get Guild Wars instead. You don't have to grind any where nears as much as you do in other MMOs, the classes system rocks and the PvP is fantastic.

I played it for about a week. Then, I just got tired of it. The whole game is depressing in a way. It has less going for it than any other MMORPG, and there are other free one's that are better than it is.

the game bited. I played for a month (not for long periods at a time, really) trying to play it like other MMORPGs (you get higher level by killing scarrier baddied, you get to be able to kill those baddies by working upt other skills), but then I realized I can level up equally as much against a huge scary monster of unholy doom as I can against a goblin that's level 2. after I figured that out the game got redundant. I played for a couple more days before I just couldn't bear to play it any more.

I suggest you get Guild Wars. at least on that you can play PvP if you get bored with the story and PvE things (not that I have, I'm just saying that there's the option)

There's nothing wrong with Runescape if you consider what it offers for what you pay.

I had seen games like Ultima Online at a cousin's house and that sparked my passion for MMOs. Discovering Runescape a few years after really got me excited. I soon left to play Everquest, and although it's much more varied, there was just too much grindstoning.

I've tried out most MMOs either in beta or retail form (except WoW, didn't get into beta and £9 a month is extortionate).

Want a complex, varied but slow burning MMO? Get EVE Online.

Want a simple, streamlined and quick MMO? Guild Wars amigo...

I totally agree. I exited about 5 seconds after registering... not including loading time. Seriously, runescape needs to improve drastically before I stop calling it a babies came.
