Well, I finally got to play Ragnarok again after about a year and a half away from it, and I have to say it hasn't gone downhill as severly as everyone says it has. And it's only $10 a month. I'll probably start playing that again after I get a job.
I'd play Guild Wars, but my computer's not powerful enough :/.

What are your specs? It doesn't require a great deal.

933 MHZ processor
128 meg RAM
Win ME
32 meg graphic card
I'm pretty sure I lose out in both the ram and graphic department.

Oof, that really is a bad setup. You could get that all pretty average for £130?
£50 for graphics card (Anything like a 5500 could handle Guild Wars)
£30 for some more RAM (256MB isn't amazing but sufficient)
£50 for a much better processor (something around the 1.9ghz mark if you're willing to overclock).
Of course this is hoping you don't need to get another mobo.
All in all, it wouldn't cost too much to bring your PC up to scratch to run Guild Wars.

you need to rethink where you get your RAM, i just paid £50 for 1GB (2x512)

You see Pope, that may all cost about £130, but you have to remember, the pound is worth almost twice as much as the dollar. That means that I would be shelling out close to $300 to upgrade (probably more, stupid price whores), which I, quite frankly, won't have until I get a job.

new vid card = $90
new ram = $20-50 (depending on how much you're buying)
and I've no clue what a new processor would run you.

I play runescape.. I play it everyday. I enjoy it in its simple complexity.
Yes Java is probobly the worst thing you can use to build a game, but its suported from windows to mac, linux, BSD, you name it.
I run a small clan call phoenix.
Phoenix Clan website.
err yeah.. anyway. Ive met some really cool people that i talk to via phone on a weekly bases. The game really isn't all that bad if you can get past the graphics. Hell they don't bother me.. I still play FF7 and their only a touch better in field view.
For 5 bucks a month you really can't expect a whole lot ya know.
On top of every thing my pc can't run most never games so im stuck with RS anyway.
Well i guess that about covers my opinion.

well keeper, have you played any of the bigger games out there? things like EQ, WoW, GW, etc all make RS look like crap since RS simply isn't involved enough to make it all that fun. the fact that you can kill lvl 2 mobs and level up same as killing lvl 100s relaly turns me off to it, and there are many other flaws in the game.

He has a 500mhz PC and I seriously doubt he could BARELY run any of those things..
as for me:
CPU: (1 CPU - Intel Pentium II, 400 MHz, L1: 16KB L2: 512KB (17% Load))
Mem: (Usage: 80/128MB (62.50%))
HD: (Total/Free: 12.65/7.17GB)
on both my PC's..
so yea, it does suck horribly to have a PC that can't run the latest/greatest games, but... thats why we have games like this!

If the wildy wasn't so crappy in RS2, I might play it..but meh..
There's too many cheaters in the game too. I could cheat just as easily..but then your not even playing the game..
