depends on if it would be 2D or 3D.
It would be totaslly insane having a real-time roper! races to get the crate(I would assume a crate spawns after each collect) dog fights with zookers mine fields every where. Also, i would assume there would be a time limit for not being able to shoot again after shooting.
Oh yeah, it would be fun to plonk a girder right infront of a whizzing worm, who smacks it's head on the newly made girder, falling into the sea
I'm not too sure if it would work in 3D, because 3D doesn't work anyway.....

It's not that 3d doesn't work, it just wasn't executed properly.
Anyway, I'd like to see a real-time Worms game as well, but it's probably not going to happen. Something or other about straying too far from the point of Worms (yeah, right, I'd blow that argument to hell in 10 seconds).

People have tried to make real time worms before (eg LieroX, Nim2). I'm sure they'll try to make it again, in fact I wouldn't mind trying to do it myself sometime

I suppose that's one "good" thing about my degree (aero engineering), there aren't too many terms/words/etc that have "alternative" meanings.
What, like cockpits, turboshafts, thrust, nozzles, corkscrews, ram drag, payload, flaps, and wind tunnels? |

That does sound kinda fun, like a Half-Life of Quake 3 scene.
2D would be quite difficult due to all the different game types. But I think 3D would be pretty good at it.

Unfortunately, making a 3d real time Worms game would be so ungodly graphic intensive that you'd need a very high end computer to do it. That and the only possible console release would be for XBox.

Maybe T17 will try it out with a 2d copy before doing it on 3d. The way I would see real-time ropers is with multiple crate drops, or timed drops where a crate will only stay for some time before exploding

yet the xbox is getting to slow for upcoming/current graphic intense games.
When the Xbox 2 comes out, Maybe there will be a light on RTS of worms. (as well as getting rid of the damned loading on in-game scenes on halo2)

Yeah, that would be so sweet. And that way we could also make it real-time and have in kinda like starcraft. (which is probably like Duke Nukem but II've never played that)

Let me put it this way.
Do you remember 'Pandemonium' (sp?) on the PS1?
Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project is like that. That is the design that Worms would look good as.
Did that make any sense?
