Ok i have another question but i didnt feel that i couls make another thread asking for help. So this thread is now devoted to this question. (i even went as far as renaming the thread.)

Is there any way i can completley uninstall explorer? nothing againt it or nething u ie users, but its just that firebird doesnt get pop ups -at all- but im still getting pop ups from explorer. i removed it from the "windows components" list in add/remove programs on the control panal. that didnt help the pop ups. i even went and tried to uninstall the ie folder. it would only let me delete some things and that didnt help the pop ups.

Is there any way i can completely do away with explorer so that there is no trace whatsoever that it was ever on my computer?

go to run, regedit and then find the folder called HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Internet Explorer. Delete this folder.

wow so ill never get another pop up again? im in shock.

or do what i do. I have a popupswatter that does even more than that. It puts smiley's in emails, searches, makes cursors and more! And i put it in ie. So now ie good .

Or you could jsut download AIEPK. Free and works, simply click the icon once its downloaded (40kb) and it's done!

You can try these if the above don't work, although they're good ideas anyway.

1 - Set Firbird as your default browser (Tools > Options).
2 - Run Spybot Search & Destroy (http://security.kolla.de) and look for spyware.
3 - Install a firewall.
4 - Make sure your Windows is up to date (WU Must be run in IE, find it at the top of your Start Menu or "All Programs" menu).

too late ie is gone i really could care less. i hate pop up stoppers becasue often the miss some real pop ups and they wont let u open pop ups u want without holding ctrl. firebird can tell the difference between good and bad and now i never have to look at a pop up for the rest of my er for the rest of the time i have this computer i suppose.

o. I use my popup swatter BECAUSE i can disable it right here and there if there is one like that.

no, but with firebird it does it automatically so u dont have to do anything.
