Does anybody know how to take screen shots of a movie in DivX? I have tryed the print screen key but then when I paste it, it's all black.

I'm not entirely sure but it's sometimes the case you can't printscreen a movie frame because it's 'protected'.

If you were really desperate, convert it to mpg or wmv and then import it into windows movie maker, then export, then take a printscreen with the newly created video.

pause the movie then screenshot it?

If you had FlashMX you could import a movie, and either printscreen as its on the stage, or export to a *.PNG image.. at least i think you can do that.

Edit: All I was planing on doing is making a slideshow kind of thing, kind of like this one: roflcopter

But what I wanted to do was in Star Wars #3 in the chapter where they are in that volcano thing, & when padme is coming out of the ship "thing", she is yelling " Billy, you forgot your sandwhich, & Billy, (Anniken) Doesn't want a sandwhich, he wants a snackpack, & then he ends up killing his mother(when anniken uses the "force" & chokes padme) all over a snack pack.

I think that's about it.

I use WinAvi VideoConverter, but the trial for that means it sticks on a big, fat watermark so the video would be tainted a bit.

you won't be able to take a screenshot of an mpg or a wma either. (at least not a wma). You need a prog that can do directX capture

i dont rememebr the program name, but it'd do it if you hit scoll lock.

just use www.virtualdub.org to do it.

HyperSnapDX. Don't think it always worked right for videos, but sometimes it did.

VirtualDubMod or similar is probably the best option, since you can just load the video in it and find the exact frame you want. Very handy. Don't think it works for .wmv though, not all of them anyway.

Yeah I knnow, but there was some people who hadn't seen this topic yet. Thought they would of liked to know what we were talking about if this comes up again in the not to far future.

Theres tons of programs hanging around where you can convert wmv to avi.
