Could someone enlighten me, either here or in private, about what happened in more detail?

I have my public profile details saved, although they're dated from sometime in 2007 (this isn't as weird as you think if you know this'd be the third time my BTP account has been deleted, haha), so they can used to restore my details to a certain extent.

It would be nice however if the database could be queried to find out how many actual posts and threads I have in the forum. To see single digit figures for some of the stats that were four figures long is mildly distressing

Backup restoration is impossible, cuz the daily/weekly backup was scheduled today.

Out of curiosity, what determined which users were deleted?

I fixed your signup date anyway. He wrote a vb script to do the deletes one after the other with incrementing ids (possibly skipping some though?)
