Well i don't feel like making a big deal out of it all but meh:

Consoles are there for TV gaming, PCs are different. PCs and games, yes they win, but can you AFFORD having to constantly upgrade just to play the new ones coming out?
Consoles are the PCs of TVs that dont require an upgrade for many years (xbox = 5 years) and still have amazing stuffs.
Xbox = $150, PC+upgrades = hundreds, hundreds more

...
but, since it has come to the new age of gaming qualities, as in, $599 fucking price tag for PS3 (and $89 for games), PC will be better option now

That is sad... Playstation seems like its going to flop just because of its outrageous price.

My household will have a wii on release day. I think my mum ordered it or some shit.

Ive been pretty out of touch with consoles recently. But Ive been entertaining the idea of a 360 for my monitor.

Looking forward to flapping about like a fool.

good point on the price of the computer thing. but yeah, if the trend is $600+ for consoles then it's gunna become a huge waste in a short time.

I would rather pay the $300 or so dollars for a new video card for the next gen PC games than to buy a $600 console.

The problem is it becomes a yearly expense. Though I think the thread is derailing slightly.

all the stuff about is for when it was gonna get released, i know, its been out a while now, and im bringing up another old thread, but its rubbush
defo not what i was expecting, the graphics are 'okay' i guess, but all in all, im very upset with it

the PS3 IS, I REPEAT. . .IS worth its money, just think of what you are getting in the package THINK!

uh.....you're getting a player of a type of digital media that is both impractical right now as well as over priced that no one's actually using and therefore is unneccessary. aside from that, you're getting an XBox360 with a built-in gyro in the controller that allows for the controller to be used as a joystick.

all issues and problems with the system aside (because they're sporatic and some people have perfect systems while others have $600 baking pans), it's impractical right now. it serves no purpose to spend that much money on a gaming system that's no more useful than an alternative that's half its price. please, explain to me one thing that the PS3 has that the 360 doesn't that makes it worth double what the 360 is worth. I would love to see your answer.

and don't say that I'm just a nintendo fan cause I don't care if you like the wii or not. it's obviously not for everyone (and obviously graphics are your primary concern rather than gameplay, so the wii is definitely not for you).

im not implying that i prefer graphics, its just for me, the Wii is alittle babyish in its ways, sure. . .i like what they have though up for it, but just not my thing

and what i was getting at with the PS3, is if you were to take everythink out of it (not literally, as in, gaming, dvd etc) then its actually quite cheap, it plays blu-ray, which holds a hell of alot more data, and blu-ray dvds aswell (while the standalone blu-ray dvd player is about £800)
it has better memory expansion, with it being able to accept many formats of memory card, sure, when you just think of the specs compared to 360, and price for that matter, then the 360 is alot better
but if your for digital entertainment, and like gaming aswell, i personally think the PS3 tops all products, all in all, when seriously thought about, it is quite cheap, you got vista compatability so it virtually turns into a computer (i would say thats worth about £600, blu-ray £800, and all other specs. sure, many people will prefer the 360 and Wii. but from faint memory, the Wii was nearly £400 on Amazon, £45 more for the ps3. so theres my point made, but i just prefer the PS3, as i have thought about what you actually get in the package.

the wii was £400 somewhere?! christ! that's entirely overpriced! it should be less than half of that price.

and as for the media player thing, sure, it's cheap for a bluray player, but as I said in the other thread. no one actually needs a bluray player at this point.
