Bloopy: Can't quite see how this PM is gonna help revive the forums.

you realize of course that excluding every new person from joining into our PM means that much of the community will be bypassed and therefore this PM actually is detrimental to the health of the forums as a whole and may well bring down the forums in and of itsself.

kikumbob: I agree with akuryou. This PM is like the thread but more confined.

I don't agree with aku. Here we can quaintly discuss how to rerevive the site.

Obviously, the only way to do this is MORE BANNERS. Or, if the worst comes to the worst, you could always combine this site with another game that has just recently taken off and has a massive fan club. Sorta kills wormy pride though.
Spleet: Add people and tell them to visit the forums more frequently.

We could alway kill off the Worms aspect () and make one mega awesome clan/gathering!

EvilWeevil: Firstly, now that this PM has gotten going a bit, it's actually easier to create a thread. Doing so before would have ended up with me and Spleet chatting again (not that I don't love our chats). But now, people (at least the ones here, which is a start) may be more inclined to actually go there.

Secondly, shaddup about the pixel map pack.

Thirdly, shaddup about everything else you've all been gibbering on about.

Fourthly, shaddup Aku. If you don't like it, at least give your opinion on a good way of going about this.

Fithly, I'm open to sugesstions on ways to get the other members to visit the forums, be more social, etc.

Sixthly, As fun as it is having a huge PM, I'd really like it if we stayed on-topic and actually talked about this seriously.

Seventhly, that's all I have to say for now.

TheAbdBoy: To get moar people active let's have a WA tourney as I've suggested thousands of times before. Then we can have a prize. Someone's gotta donate sum money though. KAY?

Spleet: They should bring back the BTP league.. And yes it is huge and fun, like many other things I'd like to mention.

Also Evilweevil, the fact that the forums are dying more and more is because we lose all the members who post and gain members who dont. The fact is, unless we get back those posters, the forums may never be as active as before.

EvilWeevil: Well in that case we need to get the people who don't post, to, er, post.

And Abd, you have to bear in mind most of the people who have WA are the ones in this PM. I believe the large majority of members on this site are WWP players, so a WA tourney might not be such a great idea...I for one don't have WA.

TheAbdBoy: WA is the game that counts EvilWeevil. We could have a seperate tourney for WWP D:.

EvilWeevil: Yes, but we're not talking about which game is superior or "counts" (though you're right). We're talking about revivng the forums, and I'm saying a WA tourney is perhaps not such a good way of doing it. To be honest, I doubt any kind of Worms tournament is going to help much. Perhaps we'll get more people active, but that doesn't mean they'll be more social, which is ultimately what we want.

Then again, I could be completely wrong. BTP has had a tourney before, right? How did that go down?

TheAbdBoy: I'm not sure, only Bloopy and Zog know, as they are the only members left from around that time (I think). People created maps for the tourney etc. We can have a forum dedicated to the tourney and it can be sponsored by other threads

Anyhow, much as it pains me, I'm not the only one with a say in this, so who else thinks Abd's idea be a good one, and what suggestions might ye like to add yourselves?

kikumbob: I still hold by my belief that the main reason why the forums are dying is because the 2D worms community is fading and dumbing down. In short, time is showing its age. The people that are still playing WA are old and frail and most of the skill of multiplayer is roping. Thats all its come down to. Lotsnlots of roping for advanced core gamers.

So, unless Team17 get down to making a game that shares a genre space with WA and is something that we (we meaning zogger) can accept as the new idol for this site, the forums will continue to die using one of those lovely exponentials everyone heres about now and again.

kikumbob: That never works. I would direct you to this general banter site my friend made, but unfortuantly he made the mistake of inviting people who couldnt take forums seriously.

Lets face it. These sort of things die. Ive been on the end of three other forums which have succesfully died. And the Discworld roleplaying forum is going that way as well. Its sad but it happens.

I reckon now is good time just to reinvent the place. Not as something general. Just a reinvention.

kikumbob: Heh. Its not too bad, true, but its not as good as what it once was. Therefore human minds see a depleting popultion and conclude that the forum is dieing.

ReadMe: i got bored halfway, but akuryou is right, moving discussion away from the forums and into a PM for select few doesnt really help to drum up forum activity.

kikumbob: How will they lose anymore interest than if it was in a PM? As long as everyone has their notifications set right then should work. Just continue that other thread or make a new one and possibly attach this conversation to it so others no what we are on about.
