I'm looking for the filter files from Photoshop 5.5 or lower (preferably version 5.5, but nothing higher than that). I don't need the program itsself, but if you know where I can get a demo or something of the program that'll serve my purpose just fine. if you have photoshop 5.5 yourself, then I ask that you come up with a way for you to send the filter files to me through mail or on a site or whatever else works for you.
if you're wondering, I need these files to import into my FireWorks 8 demo that I snagged to decide whether it's worth buying or not. in fireworks 8 I can import photoshop filters from any version of photoshop older than 5.5, but I can't seem to find the program or the files myself, so help is needed.
thanks to those who can help.
and if it makes a difference, I have photoshop 7 on my computer already.

Ah, so it only accepts photoshop 5.5 filters. No wonder it never wanted to swallow v7's lovely filters. I'll join you in the hunt when I get some time
Edit: And yes, Fireworks is worth it!

I love fireworks, I use it every day. But the thing is, that school is teaching only photoshop and noone has ever heard of Fireworks.

A school only teaching PhotoShop? But everyone knows that's a noobs program. Why would they teach you that?

Hehe, my school is full of dumbasses. Im basically the only one that even knows what certain things are.. Like Firefox for example. But no, no, the Vice Pincipal turned down my request to get Firefox on the school comps..

I'm not surprised that Firefox was turned down as a browser on the school computers. Even the school technicians do that. The main reason people use firefox is because it apparently displays webpages properly. Which is true. But it's still unstable.
No moar browser debate.

Meh, If I were the teacher for a tech class, I would set my students up with Firefox. As for Fireworks, not even my teacher had heard of it.
"Fireworks... Hmm, well we have CS2 now, so I don't know what your talking about."
Thats just about how she said it.

Photoshop is seen as the industry's 'standard' program for graphics, besides illustrator but in comparison to Fireworks, Photoshop is very, very poor when it comes to vector graphics.
My school has Photoshop Elements or some other stripped down version, along with Paint Shop Pro, but I'm pushing the Art department to buy Fireworks. It doubles up as an animation program (although they have Flash) and a web-design program.

yeah, I've used the vectors with fireworks MX for a while now because it's easier to me than normal drawing. fireworks kicks ass, I just wasn't sure if I wanted to pay for the upgrade.

I seem to be lucky as all my schools computers have flash, firefox, fireworks, dreamweaver, photoshop, photoshop elements and a bunch of other expensive crap. We recently gave all the computers a tune up, well we got new ones anyway, so I'm not surprised...
