no, seriously, I'm having trouble thinking of a movie that I've ever laughed at as much as ultraviolet. that movie is absolutely amazing! granted, it's SUPPOSED to be a serious action movie, but it fails so spectacularly at being anything close to decent, that it actually makes fun of itsself. a movie like this doesn't even NEED to be watched on Mystery Science Theatre to be made fun of. there's nothing that could do a better job than the writers did.

seriously, though. go watch it. it's awesome! I haven't enjoyed watching a movie as much as that in a long time!

ok, let me explain the story behind this abomination....try to keep track. oh! and there are some spoilers, but don't worry, it won't matter:

the world has advanced in technology over the years and there have been medical breakthroughs. in an attempt to make better humans, "Vampires" (humans with genetically enhanced bodies that cause canine teeth to lengthen as a side effect) were created and studied by the regular humans. these vampires broke out and began a resistance movement. the humans responded by wiping most of them out.

that was the back-story, here's the horrible part (the actual movie plot):

a group of vampires is made aware of a weapon that will kill all vampires when released into the atmosphere. one of the vampires is sent to retrieve this weapon so it can be studied or destroyed (was never quite sure). while retrieving the weapon, the vampire woman opened the case it was held in to find that it was, in reality, a human child. this child was revealed to be carrying with it a disease capable of wiping out all vampires once extracted from his blood. the only problem is that the kid actually has no such virus in his blood, in reality he has a human-destroying virus in his blood. but it can't be used, so the bad guys are trying to get him back so that they can use the weapon to kill the vampires. thing is, the kid gets killed, but that's ok because there were 7 other clones exactly like him and they can all be used to kill all the vampires (with the virus that kills only humans, mind you), so the original kid was actually completely pointless, but that's ok because he didn't actually die, but was brought back to life when the vampire that stole him cried because of his death. then there's more fighting to stop them from killing the kid or some such, but my mind kinda glazed over at that point.....

£500 to the first person to make sense of that plot.

I disagree, I actually aquired the film today and watched it.

I found it very entertaining.

THAT it isn't. the budget was apparently fine, it's just horrid writing. the graphics are pretty good except that the green-screen effects were done so horribly that someone needs to be shot for it. aside from that, the movie is actually well-made.

oh, and yes, if she had said "my name is violet and I was born into a world you may not understand" one more goddamn time, I would've taken the disc out and shattered it against my wall.....that is a HORRIBLE line, and the writers should, once again, be shot.
