For the first time in the history of Eurovision a hard rock band participated, and they won with an enourmous lead! While several other countries' singers, that were considered favourites from the start, not only didn't win, but barely got into the top 10...

So, what's your opinion on this year's Eurovision?

My reaction to more than a half of the entries was "If these guys got in here by winning in the semi-finals, i imagine how horrible were the entries which lost to them". Most of them were either in an undecypherable language or failed miserably at giving a good show(if you remember well, Ruslana won the 2004's Eurovision purely because of her magnificent dance).

A few of the "failed" entries were worth noting, though - the Latvian band done pretty well at imitating musical instruments, even if they didn't manage to sing well, and the Moldovian team had a damn hot main singer...

Also, i really hate it how political the show is - countries always give away the highest scores to their neighbours, no matter whether their neighbours' entries were even half-decent or not. Kinda strange, considering that the scores are supposed to be decided by viewers voting in each country, no?

One thing i enjoyed about this year's show - my country had an entry that made me rofl. The song("Winners of Eurovision") goes like:
*Football chant sung by people with radically different baltic accents of english*
*MAD FAT GUY RAVE*

Originality.

I only watch it because it's so crap.

I also hate how certain countries vote for eachother. However what I hate more is that a country like Andorra, population ~ 71,000 has as much say over the vote as a country such as the UK, population ~ 60,600,000 (statistics from CIA website).

So someone in Andorra has a vote more than 850 times greater than the effect of my vote. It should be done on total, not by country.

Ofcourse, this is not porn:):):)

It is kinda pointless cos neighbour votes...but why Serbia&Montenegro went so well on last two years? Serbs in Austry, Germany and other countries voted for us:twisted::twisted:
Too bad we didn't competed this year, cos of fucken Montenegrians who tried to fix up results so their band goes, and we got ourselves difqualified:D:D

Anyway, I think Moldovia was best, cos hot singer and those Jamajica-looking guys in the back:D:D:D

Lithuania was ok either, they are good comedians:twisted:

And Finland was cool cos of masks and that voice, tho I don't like that kind of music much

Finn here!

I don't like Lordi at all. They're sick! When we selected our candidate and Lordi won, they licked the hosts! Their faces! Millions of people watching and they licked the hosts faces. The male host was quite surprised but the ohter one - a young woman - was totally terrified. Yufff... But their performance was very massive though.

Lal.
Lovely song. I liked so much - now I'm buying*cough* the song's video and album.
Never heard of the band before though -.-'
Edit: I wonder what are Cradle of Filth's chances to win the Eurovision.

Since Britains apauling 0 point screw up and the horrible consistency of most of the songs I lost interested in the contest. I only watch it because Britain's commentator, Terry Wogan, is fantastic at taking the piss out of everything. its quite funny to watch at times.

I have to say I really liked latvia's acapella but that wasnt gonna go far in a contest where little jingles like that do nothing. Lithuania was just silly. And ironic. My country died again, but this time it was ok because half the song was very annoying rap.

The winning band was good. But I think they only won because of a possible heavy metal craze sweeping through Europe? I dont know, i live in Enlgand.

EDIT: I'd vote if there was a medium in the pole.

I'm not sure if it's compulsory.. iirc there wasn't a vote in Britain until a few years ago. Might just be I remember wrongly though. And at any rate viewers can be just as biased.
