This is the read for discussion upon the DoD: S war that is currently being organised.

Apply here and request your class at the same time. Please be reasonable and don't go "zomg I wanna be sniper"

I just have a few questions. Is this war team BTP-1 vs team BTP2 or BTP vs whoever we can fight? What's the server config for a dods war? or should we just have normal config and just play?

Guest: Fox Sniper He knows RunT

Note: If anyone thinks that they should be sniper, then feel free to prove your worthyness. I'm happy to go as support/mg/rocket (in that preference order) but I'd really like to go as sniper .

Also, if you just gave a list of what you like to be then i'll choose what you stated you're best at, what you mentioned first and what you play as most of the time.

can you buy DoD from steam without owning CS:S?

Yeah, it costs $20 on it's own.

I'll be playing the Assault class. As for server rules, just keep them normal; don't mind if ff is on or off.

Would be good if we could hire a server for a night or so. Maybe we could collectively put money towards a rental server. £30 for a month, at Jolt.

Oh, and only the official maps

I think that renting a server is going to be our most likely option. We'd want a private server to practice together.

I play a mix of Rifle, Machine gun and Rocket, and ocassionly Assult.

including RunT, we'll have 4 players. That's not really enough to play between ourselves tbh unless you really want to have a 2v2..

I gotta be in on this. However, I cannot decide which class to choose, all depends really on what "side" we play on, but as for not knowing, Assault or Support usually.

I like it but I've got too much else to do :s

We'll play equal sized rounds on each team.

edit: and do note that when we get a dedicated server (most likely from jolt) it'll be UK based, so be warned people from america.

If anybody who lives ourside of europe and don't want to play because of the server being in UK and having a large ping, well there is this command you can type into the console which really helps.

something like "lag_comp_error_check 1". It just helps out the lag compensation alot and it really does help.

I've played in numerous servers based in UK, I never had any really big issues, ping of maybe 160, tops.

That is a big issue. Seriously. And you're probably using default rates....
