i'd use mIRC for idling purposes, its just irc.nomadirc.net in the server box and connect.
with a /join #blamethepixel

if Chatzilla wont work, get your self Miranda-IM, its Mulit-Messenger. It comes with Protocls for MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, Jabber and IRC
