So, I was thinking what if people could moderate their own topics and not have to worry about anouther admin coming in and fixing everything, for example, the crator of a topic may not want certain things to be posted there, so he/she could delete other people's posts in their topics.
And THIS does affect me HarrY =Þ

Bad idea. If you make a thread and someone says something against you or your way of thinking, and you're not particularly good-tempered, then thread authors will start editing or deleting other users' posts.
If something isn't broken, don't try to fix it.

Noes.
I thought the same when I had just joined, but there's too much risk of...well...what those two said. ^

noes. like what they said, you can just pm a mauderator if you need something done
besides, you can see if someone edited your post anyways... but idea: show a small note bar in the area which a certain post was deleted, "Post was removed by #user#"

I wouldn't mind people having the ability to lock their own threads.
But as for editing/deleting posts...
NO!

Editing other's posts is useless and they may get angry, rating you down and/or voting against you in fictoleague.
In extreme cases, you can always delete the thread.
Agreed. Thats just as stupid as ArcBeetle asking for admin status
Nobody asks for admin status.

I was only proving a point. Besides, read the thread about r_e leaving BTP and you'll find people do ask for Admin status.

....in a sarcastic way.
We'd all want to be admins, no? I, personally, want r_e's adminship, him not needing it and all
BTP could use a report post button, but judging by the small activity around here, admins read all threads anyway. This kills the need for locking, deleting or editing topics in any way, too - admins can do that if they believe it's really necessary.
Because most of the time, it isn't.

Well, I still think it would be a good idea to atleast be able to lock and delete your own threads.
you used to be able to do this before, but for some reason, it was removed

Not delete, but locking your own threads would be good.
