Nope, Pio edited the post while I was in posting form. I left the form written I went away and when I posted that his post was edited already. These are the inconveniences of php being a server side language

That's got nothing to do with it because that's not what php is for. Php is for building up the html page that gets sent to you. It's up to your browser to refresh the page if you want the latest version. We could tell your browser to refresh posts all the time but that would be pointless because it's usually not needed. So it's your job to refresh the posts.

Internet Explorer might have ftp capability, but from my experience, it runs into the same problems it has with all downloads, at least when you're running dial-up.
As for refreshing, if you're running Firefox, you can get a plugin called "ReloadEvery" that will automatically refresh a page every x number of seconds/minutes.

Thats sounds like the sort of thing that thingeox used to get so much BTP money.

Actually, you won't get banned for using it, as long as you don't abuse it. I have my ReloadEvery set to refresh every 15 minutes. I use it so I don't just sit there and constantly refresh forums until new posts pop-up (which I'll inevitably do if there's nothing better to do). It also keeps my connection active (damn dial-up...).

Actually he was banned because of the autorefreshing first.
Then Zog gave him a 2nd chance, and got banned again for flaming.

This ReloadEvery things sounds very useful. And I would probably use it for the same reason as Glenn, except I have to keep reloading the same page every second so that my connection would work.

The worst thing is that refreshing too often could waste bandwidth of the site.

I could just refresh on Google or something. BTP doesn't have to be my refreshing victim
