Wormiverse might be back up this month, it might not be. It got whored to death by a bunch of search-bots that sucked the bandwidth dry.

According to the big cheese of cl2k, it is down because of DOS attacks. Cl2k has been hosted on Wormiverse for a while now. Maybe only the first time it went down in the last week was an attack but I doubt it.
Edit: Actually this time round the hosting expired or something apparently.

I found a post about Wormiverse on their server host's forums. It was because of a large number of search-bots that ran over all of the site's links over and over again.
Can't be bothered to find the thread again...
Found the thread: http://forum.powweb.com/showthread.php?t=53116
Wormiverse's hosting has now been canceled as well :/.

No, if the hosting has been cancelled, that means that the HOST has CANCELLED the website. Not that the person that's running the website has quit.
They'll hopefully be back. It depends on whether they can get their service restored or, failing that, find a new host.

hosting can be cancelled by either party .
For example I could cancel my hosting account, and that would imply that BTP would not be planned to be coming back.
It's how I interpreted it, anyway .

I dare you to do that
It wasnt like wormiverse was thiving with activity. The last time I checked up on it there were only 3 users posting. One of those included Thor. It really did scare me to see that site become a ghost site. It has such a nice collection of downloads.

They didn't update it that often anyways. The sig of the week was Joe's for about a year.
Cool forum tho (with the money and all), but I just didnt' feel into posting there..

Actually, Wormiverse is a bit important, not so much for the forum but for the webspace. Cl2K is hosted on the same webspace as Wormiverse, so is Wormtech. Dream17's mirror site still exists on the Wormiverse webspace, and THAT had a mirror for the Worms 4 demo.

Ouch.
So really Wormiverse was the core for most other wormy sites. Like a chain reaction?
