Ever wonder why that cave that was filled with dark force influence existed on Dagobah, when there was really nothing to warrant it in the original trilogy? Spoiler (Click to Expand) When fighting Darth Sidious, there's a part where Yoda is trying to repel Sidious' Force Lightining. During this, there's a brief closeup of Yoda, soon afterward, Sidious recoils in horror at something. Now, is it just me, or does it seem that Yoda's eyes have changed from their normal green color, to a yellowish-orange similar to Anakin's eyes after turning to the dark side? Sidious suddenly notices this change, and becomes visibly afraid. Yoda runs away after that point because he realizes what has happened, he allowed his anger to control his actions. He decides to go to Dagobah to live in seclusion so that he may clense himself of the influence before Luke (or Leia) arrives. The cave that is filled by Dark Side influence is thus created by Yoda himself. This can still go along with the explanation of the Expanded Universe (It says Yoda killed a Dark Jedi in the cavern). The cave became the manifestation of the 'Dark Jedi' that Yoda 'killed' by purging the pain and anger from his body. And that is how the world works, ladies and gentlemen. At one point in the movie Yoda tells Anakin that death is a process of life and is natural to all, so jedis obviously dont have a resentment to killing. When Anakin faced Darth...the first darth he killed, he said it wasnt the jedi way that he should be killed without reason, ie, without him going to court. This is then mirrored when Anakin, dude with the purple lightsaber, and darth sidious are in a room together and, purple lightsabre dude is about to kill him. As well Anikin knowing he will need sidious, he would also be feeling that it wasnt the jedi way. Glenn: thats a flimsy theory and I do hope the plot for the dark force cave is not as flimsy as that, but im going to look it up on the internet, because I also saw/imagined yodas eyes change colour and wandered what the hell sidious was doing when he jumped back although I assumed that was because Yoda was winning...?
