Ooh, interesting poll, whoever changed it. I definitely think it depends on what times you started and stopped playing worms. I don't know about now, but when I started really playing again, dogma and vahagn were probably the best known names in worms. It was rare to join a shoppa that didn't have dogma written somewhere on it, and clanSFX was the place to go for maps. I voted Dogma, but most of the others could easily have got my vote too. But then I remember when Jeta the worm god had a huge site, and Kiljaeden (at least that's how it seemed then).
Just thought it was worth commenting on. heh.
edit: this might not make much sense later on, so the current poll is "who is the most famous Wormer of all time in your opinion?"

I voted other, because I was going to say Volrin, although I was wrong. Annelid is the most famous wormer ever. This isn't my view, its a fact, all the newbs know who he is, probably due to his apps. Meh

I said Bloopy. I think I knew of him first. I would have said Dogma 2nd but... I've never actually talked to him. I've just played his crappy shopper.

when I started getting into the worms community a bit I saw kiljaeden everywhere. I couldn't go to a worm site without seeing his linked on it (his site was even on the T17 site), so I voted for him. he's the big, famous name I think of when I think of worms and when I joined he was THE big, famous name around from what I know.

I recognized almost all the names from one place or another. Kiljaedens site still survives today, though all the archives have been deleted:
http://www.strategyplanet.com/worms/
I believe that was the address anyway.
Then of course, there's Dogma, and Annelid, and all the other ones listed. But I went with Bloopy anyway. No particular reason.
Edit: Damn, I just can't spell that stupid link right...

I've heard of / talked to / seen CowPope and Megaworm a long time ago, but now they've disappeared.

I still see Megaworm on AIM quite a bit.
It was me who made the poll, I came up with it after seeing Wiz's thread at cl2k for A-Z of famous wormers. Some others I thought about including in the poll were Ass9 and Brian Hearn (aka Worm God). Brian Hearn kinda peaked back during Worms1 days, I believe he made the mad cow level which was featured in Worms United.
My vote has to go to Dogma I think. I'm surprised how many people have voted for me though.

NEW WORM OLYMPICS COMING THIS JULY AND AUGUST!
You can reserve your tournament the site!
Please name the scheme of your tourney, the date for it to occur and the duration of the tourney
------------------------
Why did nobody mention Hermit?
As I recall, SFX wasn't the only hugely popular clan. TEA and HoS were also very popular.
Besides, anyone who has ever played in a RR will know what TR13 looks like

I voted Bloopy.
He is the name everyone knows in the worm comunity. Dogma came a close second. I remember a time I couldn't play a shopper without his name being printed somewhere on the map. Annelid comes third, IMO.

The results won't be accurate outside the BTP community. Not to discredit Bloopy, but lots of people here won't have a clue who BadCereal is, but they will all know Bloopy because of his association with this site, as well as his site and maps and so on. Similarly, if Zog had been put in the poll, he would no doubt have been near the top.

Dogma had about 3 maps. I wouldn't say ALL the maps =\ But he is pretty popular. Just not the most popular.
Annelid is definately 2nd in my opinion.
As for what Meiapaul said, you're probably right, but I wouldn't ever vote for Zog. He's not active on worms..he just has a site about it

Actually, Dogma had 11 maps, not to mention all the remixes various people have done that have his name pasted on it.
