Haha, your clouds are the rejects of the sky!
Yeah, Teragen and Bryce are both good landscapes generators and allow for quick elemnt composition, then it's just importing it into Lightwave/Maya/3DS for some tweaking.

It's a simple program Zog. You just have to set the conditions..
Download the program and see for yourself. That's slow considering how easy the program is.
I was speaking from experience . I first used terragen between 1 and 2 years ago. Tweaking is still important - there are far better pictures on the terragen site.

Yes, It was 16 minutes on pure rendering, not me puting stuff together. You can tell it took longer compaired to yours because you have ugly clouds.
Oh so 16 minutes to change the clouds? And if you read my post, you would have realized that I said that was one of my first. I'll find another one later, in my heaps of images.

that's rather obviously a rendered pic. you can't tell the water is fake?? the rocks are even more fake looking. granted, the texturing is really good looking and the pic is nice, it just doesn't look real.

I actually thought the rocks looked more fake than the water. The water looks real to me. The land would tend to look more rugged and lifely..

16 minutes to render, C1. I'd assume that's the time it takes for the computer to draw it.
If not, then meh. tweaking is important.

Here's one of my first tries at the program. I can't find the more recent ones.

It's in bmp because that works best if I use it for a desktop.

It Would reduce the file size but that means the quality of the picture would be totally SHIT. .. plus renders would be goned or something.
Tell em!.

BMP is just for those that want UBER quality from their images but JPG is nearly always the way too go as quality is not noticeable between JPG and BMP.

depends on the compression level, 70 or 80% usually makes considerable savings while retaining reasonably high quality.

I didn't plan to show people it. It was just ment to stay on my computer and stay the best quality possible as a bmp. And I was too lazy to convert that one to JPG..though I should have to save memory of my pile of a shit computer.

I've not touched Paint in a while but if I remember rightly, it exports JPGs with a crap quality.

Yes there is a fair difference in quality between the two. While Photoshop's filesize is a tad larger, keep in mind the quality settings were fairly high. Yeah, if you can possibly convert some way other than Paint, do it. Paint is really only the best for a bragging tool (Haha, I still rock at art even with PAINT!)
