Since I hardly know my way around Flash, I thought I'd ask a question. My scanner, as it turns out, pulls drawings off better when put into Flash and traced as a bitmap. Then colored and stuff. But, the problem is, if I wanted to, oh say, make a desktop or something, transferring the actual drawing into a background pulls it in, with a big white border around it. It's fine on a white background obviously, but I'd prefer to have my wallpaper look less... bad I do this:
Scan drawing (as a black & white image)
Save as BMP, open with Flash.
Trace Bitmap in Flash, which smooths the lines to look all Flash-like.
Color and schtuff.

I'm probably overlooking something. Maybe Flash isn't the proper tool. Respond knowing that I don't have Fireworks. Just Flash. And Paint, if that'll help any

I don't quite understand what you are saying, but I think it has this white border because the size is wrong. Save the image as the size of your desktop.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so here's an example (just a quick shot I took of my current screen ):
  Spoiler (Click to Expand)

In the image, look at the lower left drawing. I'd want to make it so only the drawing itself would stick out over the big image, with none of that white crap stuff. Is it easier to understand? o_O

I could help, but I don't know flash. I could help if you were using FireWorks though

I did have FW but I never used it, and my computer was running a bit slowly, so I got rid of it :/ Figures, now I need it and there seems to be no way to get it off Macromedia for a trial so I can, uh... you know ;P

Heh, Thnikk, if you were in the same country. I'd throw you a copy of Studio MX 2004. Which includes everything.

you need to make sure that there's no white drawn behind your image, flash selection toll will take care of that.

When saving you should export as 32bit PNG image for full tranparency.
