Well today was a dark day for me. Some people who have me on MSN already will know this by now but, my DVD drive decided to go tits up on me and look what happened to the following CD

I got my revenge though, the DVD drive *tripped* down the stairs. Now, it's in pieces.
I was thinking, It'll be ok till I get a new copy of W:A cause I have WWP, but then thought.

Yes well, there's technology for ya. You think it's totally reliable and *bam*, your WA CD gets 'sploded. Not that specific maybe, but... meh.

This is why you:
A) Make a physical copy of your CD.
or
B) Make a virtual copy of your CD.
...
Hurry up and get another copy. Otherwise, the world will stop turning, the moon will explode, and the sun will burn out. And you really don't want that to happen, do you?

rofl, very well said Glenn, but! It just so happens I do have a back-up copy.
Only problem is my mates wanted to borrow it for something to play on his laptop while on holiday. So, I'm not seeing that again for another 2 weeks.

No, it basically killed itself. It started spinning the disk at a super high speed, and eventually the disk (or drive, it wouldn't matter) exploded, taking the other one with it.

Yep. That's why the super high speeds those things go at, aren't so good for the discs. My friend's starcraft cd blew up too. I had a copy of his thankfully though

i already blew up two of my wa discs. Both were european versions though. I have an american version as well, which is far less fragile. You actually blew up one of those, you have my respect that's for sure.



Neway, i feel your pain. People keep denying that this stuff could happen. On mythbusters they said it wasn't plausible because the player wouldn't be able to spin them fast enough. And when i brought mine to the repair they said that this thing only happens once in a lifetime and usually only with burned copy's. But well, i've seen otherwise

Also good job at getting all the cd pieces out. My bro blew up my second disc which actually managed to deform the whole player (it had a little bump on it on the outside as you can see...).

Thats harsh dude, thats what my drive did to mine.
But thanhxfully, I have another copy now so I'm bad, I'm back and I'm nationwide on WormNet
