I discovered this game some time ago and since then has become one of my favourates. Two players fight each other with a monstrosity of impossibly strange weapons that cause devastating attack on the landscape and other worms. To counter this, most of the ready made landscapes are completely filled with land. The rope is more of a skill than a weapon that you have all the time to have quick accesibility to the whole area as well as a digging tool.

The best thing I like about this game is its flexibility. You can change everything from the damage of the weapons and their reloading tme to the colour of your worm.

The game has become a very popular freeware game and so many people have developed the game further on open source projects.

The origanal game of Liero can be downloaded at http://www.freewaregaming.com/aa/liero.html and is probably the worst of the three game types ive played. The CPU of the worm is poor so to get some fun out of this you will need two players. Unfortunatly the game also limits you to just two worms per game. The arsenal of weapons is also much smaller.

Liero Xtreme is a much better and different version, found at http://lieroxtreme.thegaminguniverse.com/ . I have had uber fun with this espeically over the internet where up to 7 players can play at once. The l;andscape is m,uch better quality and there are many features that you can download such as worm sprites, landscape, and weapon mods.

The last game I played once before my computer's hardrive was fried by a thunder storm: http://helios.et.put.poznan.pl/~sskowron/liero/ . From what I playe dthis looks like a promising game with much better graphics and an overweliming arsenal of weapons. The CPU is also much better. I had uber fun with this too.

Has anyone else played Liero? Is this the frist time youve heard about it? If you havnt download one of these versions now, its simply great

I've played this before, and I found it utterly hard. But it is one of the greatest, simple games ever!

(I'm trying to DL LX, but I don't know which one I'm ment to get. Is it LX v0.55b ?)

I recommend people to not download Liero AI. Its practically much like the orignal Liero but pratically confusing and the CPU is infact worse

One of things I dont like about worms is the fact that you have to wait ages for your next turn. I prefer Liero in that context, but in any other worms is much better.

All of my weapons are different and mega powerful, I set all worms health to 10,000, blood at 750, Worms death goes into a MASSIVE explosion with nice little clusters flying at massive speed... its insane

I had a go at it, it's pretty good i must say. There wasn't anyone online though, so i had to play again those stupid computers who keep firing bazookas into a wall.

I played the game before. It's great to play and it's cool how it's not turn based.

not turn based? I was about to post asking how this game was different from worms, but I think I just found out.

edit: omfg! this game friggin rocks this is by far the greatest game I've ever played that had such horrible graphics. it's SO fun. my friends with crappy computers are gunna love you guys for showing me this game!

playin this game is makin me imagine a 2D non-turn-based worms game. I have a feelin that it would severely kick ass!

I heard a rumor there was an option to make Worms 3d not turned based, but I guess the rumor was false.

In my opinion DONT get Liero AI, the last link on my post. Its about the same as Liero but with more weapons of which most are in the downloadable mods of Liero X.

On my PC Liero keeps exiting itself back to the desktop and I have to start it again. Does anyone else have this problem?
