Jason, you are wrong. "Goths" are not expressing their personality through being goths, they clearly get personality confused with the way they look. "Dressing in black and wearing lipstick" has very little to do with personality, it just shows that they care too much about what other people think. Which part of your personality is reflected in being a goth?

I don't really care how people dress. As Zippy said, it goes a tad too far when they have cuts and black lipstick however.
I prefer punkish people if I were to choose a style however.
And as J says, their style is usually influenced by their taste in music..

It depends. Jhonen Vasquez is slightly goth, but I admire his work. (Johnny the Homicidal Maniac is a must read for those who like mindless violence and downright pitch-black humor)

J, is this "Emo" a new thing or something because some lads on the bus was talking about it when I was coming home from work the other week, and I have never heard of it before.. Have any of you heard of "greebo"?
And I think goths look stupid and some of them only dress like that just so people will look at them.. There might be some really sound gothic people but I would never attempt to make friends with someone who was dressed in that way.

About the emo thing..It's actually not a "new thing".
$goologo $m[1]
If that doesn't work..try using this link
http://www.google.ca/search?q=cache:j9SA02Z3TwQJ:www.fourfa.com/+emo&hl=en
And though I tend not hang out with gothic people at school or anything, I wouldn't not be friends with someone because of how try dress.
If they're a nice, funny, fun to hang out with person, then I probably will.

Gothic people are different from everyone else, but you've got them to take chances and at least show them SOME sympathy

The black lipstick doesn't happen very often around here. I only know 1 gothic person that wears black lipstick. The others are just very dark and uh..gothicish.. (hard to explain)

Couldn't choose 1 answer so you had to choose a few. =/
