You can get higher degrees, and they have more varied classes (and of course higher level classes). They also tend to have a small plaza built around them, and have dorms, which most colleges don't have. University is basically taking a college one step further. And to go a bit further, I live in a college (it's basically just a hall but everyone at the uni is associated to a college even if they don't live there), but I don't go to college. Also at a university like cambridge everything is subdivided into colleges, and all the classes etc. will take place there, but you still a university student, as opposed to a college student.
