Well, that's strange, it's accepted my score perfectly fine twice in a row.
BTW, anyone interested in trying to wrench 1st place away from me. I'm leading with 623 seconds .

There's a delay in that... it first moves 1 square, then it stops, then it goes fast. That's the problem.
That's not a problem, I want it like that. However you can change the delay in your windows control panel keyboard settings.

They're not seconds.
You'll find it's easy to get a better score on slower computers.

OK if your score doesn't submit, visit this page and it will record the results so I can check them: http://www.blamethepixel.com/bloopy/applettest.php
Visit the page in all browsers where your score doesn't submit.

Shouldn't they be seconds though if the game is running at regular speed on the machine (I have a 933 mhz processor with 128 RAM and only firefox open when I did that)? It seemed awfully like I was playing for just a bit over 10 minutes...

Each cycle of the game takes 30ms + processing time, and the processing time can be different each cycle. You score 1 point every 20 cycles. 20x30 = 600 so you score one point every 600ms + processing time. The processing time quite likely will be different for everybody.
I suggest you use a stopwatch if you want to work out how much the processing time is for you. I just tried it now and got a score of 81 in 53 seconds. 53/81 is approx 0.65 or 650ms, which means about 50ms of processing time for me per point on average, that's on a 2.8GHz computer.
I could try making a game sometime where I test the processing speed and adjust the game accordingly. I could also try making a game where events are based on time, although processing speed might affect that too.

Hmm, I'm on a 400mhz PC with a 4mb vid card, and my moms PC is a 2.4 GHZ.
Mine was able to run the game at the same speed (no lag, except for your average MSN popup toast)
Now, on my other computer tho (with the same specs as this one) it runs Much slower, because its on an old OS (win 98 ) ... and its loaded/cracking up if you know what i mean.
Maybe it depends on the OS and/or how much CPU/Mem usage is going on ATM.

Yeah it could actually be to do with memory usage, 1GB of RAM here but quite a few things running in the background. Also could depend on the Operating System I guess.

After reading the news, i tried some little score hack, which failed, looks like the score is duplicated in memory, and checked at the end.
Good job.
