Maybe i should leave for a few months.

As I peruse the forums, I notice certain people, as i'm sure everyone does, and apply ceretain opinions to them.

Everyone does, it's the human nature.

The problem is when everyone posts their opinions of people - more so when the opinions are bad, but also when opinions are good.

I'm not "special" because i'm an admin. I can simply "get away with" more stuff becuase a) fools respect the title and not the person, and b) because (it seems) none of the other admins actually have the time or desire to check up on each other.

Although the community can be quite harsh, and although btp is not a democracy, nor even any level of monarchy (since zogger can, for example, deadmin anyone and turn thw whole site off permenately), i personally find some topics (amoungst all the spam, that is) to be quite informitive. I mean, I wasn't around while Kyle's wrath was about, nor when Knifa banned him through 7 incarnations of his hell. I wouldn't have even known that he had EVER done anything positive if it wasn't for the community (and the changes page).

One thing I don't like is being annoyed. I get annoyed by seemingly simple things, like multible topics, etc, etc, but don't do anythign because i've been to lazy. But you know what? I have big plans for forum administration coming up. It will allow us to lock or kill any topic we choose without even clicking on it. So concider this a warning: have imformative titles, or risk deletion.

Also coming "When I feel like it": Javascript ulink menu, so when we click a name, we can a) ban b) edit c) rate up d) rate down e) delete and anything else interesting I can think of.

Remember, easier administration means more active admins - did you know it takes three clicks (and two page loads) to delete a single thread? An then two more page loads (and two more gestures, or clicks) to return to the forum index? Then add the 3 second page load delay on. Imagaine deleting 50 spammed threads. It could take up to 20 minutes! See why we've been lackluster recently?

I guess my point is, watch out.

And I can't remember a whole shitload more of people that belong in the those catagories. So if I don't remember your name, post more and maybe you'll get on my next list. Or don't - not like you should care. You're on everyone else's list at some level - we all are.

actually ratings is one of the things that isn't in the edit user page, we've gotta go into the db for that. Anyway, CB meant that at the mo we have to click too many buttons to get something done, and he's right. I see one user with 15 accounts and I can't be bothered to open every profile and click delete (although firefox does make it quicker with middle click ). So I think it's something we need, as long as certain people don't get carried away

Ive been given the link to this thread. And i figured it would be good manners to post a reply of sorts.

Especially since people are expressing thier opinions on me "leaving" here. im still here, just not posting and visiting unless someone says, Go see something. For the time being anyway.

It confuses me how Zog found that journal entry...and its scary he notes that it was what provoked this thread.

Just quit spamming it up with wierd things like we lub you and sad faces. Its not like i evaporated...

@ sonic, your proof someone should get a second chance at some things. Yes. But the thing is you are using that second chance, and respecting the fact you got it. whereas many many people do not.

Just like some people will go to jail. And be changed. Some people go to jail and see it as a sign the just wernt good enough at something. Minute they are out. They are back commiting crimes.

I found the link in your profile when you were online earlier... And the jail thing is a good analogy. But I still can't see a way to solve the problem.

maybe it's just my love of the first amendment of something, but no one should ever feel like they can't discuss something, or even blamethepixel administration. but like you mentioned, constructive criticism is the key.

That is too true. I couldn't care less about someone giving out some random abuse, making multiple accounts or posting stupid comments, however what I do care about is the two pages of people complaining about it:
"He's Kyle!"
"What a Spammer, Ban him!"
"Rate him down" and so on...
If it is such a problem to you, leave. Pioneer332, The Candy Man, Vision, Sega Sonic and a few others, be slightly mature and just ignore it! We are all able to judge for ourselves what is "spam", we don't need all of you to point it out. Eventually the spam will die down, but for the moment just try to ignore it

@Admins on deleting topics

What if you made a tick option? Then you could delete as many topics as you want, in a few ticks.

They do make a big deal about it, but when Kyle abuses the things on the site, that gets annoying too.

their should be another reason why a post can be marked as spam:
"pointed out spam, and said nothing else"
though, it could fall under"pointless post"
