the WWP patch is an ancient thing. the first releases of WWP came out delayed, but still unfinished; t17 decided that the internet connectivity part could wait. then they released a 6MB patch on the wwp site which allows wwp to play online. all versions of wwp sold now have this old, old patch "installed" already when you install it, they made a different version of the CD that had all the stuff they left off the first ones added. i bought wwp when it first came out, my first worms pc game, so i needed to get the internet patch and still do on reinstalls.

the W:A patch, well there's two. the first one was similar to the WWP patch; t17 released W:A in the UK and it was a rather different version than the one that eventually got released in the US; many bugs were fixed, stuff was overhauled, and i believe the original v1 in UK didnt go online either but i dunno that for a fact. anyway, the W:A patch was for those original purchasers of W:A in the UK, it upgraded their W:A to v3.00, the version sold in the US. if you bought your CD in the US you probably never heard of this patch.

the fact this patch exists causes confusion because it has always been on the W:A site. the problem is there is now a beta update, which, despite the fact that everyone calls it "the patch", is on the t17 site as "the update". people get confused, download and install the UK patch from years ago, get no cd errors, have to reinstall.

I told him to download it from my site but he downloaded from t17 anyways and im like u stupid bum download the one from my site and sure enough it worked then...stupid bum...
