I am having a problem with Winamp 5 if anyone can help (C1, thanx for trying mate).
I have a 4.1 sound card and the drivers and everything is up date and I can get 4 speakers working for WMP 10 (Windows Media Player if you didn't know )
And it has come to my attention that Winamp only uses 2 of the 4 that I have. Is there a plug-in or something I need? If so, where can it be found and how do I configure it? I've already searched and tryed the Winamp Plug-In site and nothing has helped.
Anyone else having/had this problem and care to help.
Would be thankful.

I had the same problem (i have 4.1 speakers too), i fixed this selecting the DirectSound plugin as output, and there, clicking configure and setting my soundcard as used device, instead of default stuff, so it used the soundcard's driver directly, which enabled output on the 4 channels.
I hope this works for you too.

I didn't know that did that like that, but yea, that works. Normally though, Winamp only plays stereo sound. So it's not something wrong, just how winamp is made.

Thanx for your help Falkra, but it didn't work. I'm still trying though. Any other suggestions?
Edit: It's ok, problem solved, found a Plug-In from a 3rd party site which took me at least an hour to find. Thanx guys for your help

My Opinions:
1. Windows Media Player - easy to use, good choice of skins, abilty to record to devices such as mp3 players. 7/10
2. Winamp - great for internet radio, skins are excellent, allows burning to and from CD, bit complicated but once you know it it's easy. 9/10
3. iTunes - good player, bit big file to download though, looks good, quite easy to use if you know how. 8/10
4. RealPlayer - stay away, takes long to load up, options you have to pay for, difficult to use for the new PC user. 5/10
5. MusicMaker Jukebox - too complicated, ugly looking, not many options for configuring. 2/10
Are there any I have missed?

Haha that's ok Runt I was just trying to be lazy, but unlike you it only took me 2 minutes to find a working plugin: http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=129453&show=reviews&page=2
I found it on my first search, I searched google for "winamp plugin speakers problem" and it was second on the list. I am the pervasive dexter indeed
