You should really know that. GB is 1000 MB. A MB is 1000 KB and a KB is 1000..B? I think.

they probably figure that when people outgrow the free hosting they are very likely to start paying for their paid hosting rather than bothering to move everything elsewhere. Makes sense, really, as many sites will go over the 1GB bandwidth mark once they grow enough [I mean we're on at least 5GB so far this month atm, and it's only about a third of the way through]
edit: and mysql is only one 5 MB database...
