Completely of Topic [ hense the forum ] but does anyone know where I can get BIOS updates without having to pay for them?
My CPU is a AMD Athlon XP 2200 but its only running at 1.8ghz and not 2.1ghz like it should. The only way i've found one wants $24.95 from me, and I refuse to pay it.
Anyone know where I can get / find one for free? IF there is such a way?

Athlon XP 2200+ chips normally run at 1.8GHz. Fact.

Apprently it can run at 2.1ghz, all I need is the BIOS update so I can configure my CPU.

You're right about that, it is crap. Doesn't like XP at all. That's MSi for you

Wait wait wait, 2100 is the P-Rating, amd cpus use this to show which speed it is comparable with. In fact, like tundraH said, the 2100+ cpu runs at 1.8 ghz, but it is comparable to a 2100mhz cpu, so it is called 2100+, but it is normal to see it run at 1.8ghz. It's just the name. Don't flash your bios without being perfectly sure of what you're doing, you can damage the motherboard.
Btw msi is good, and bioses are freely downloadable, as long as it is really what you need.

I'm perfectly aware that it _can_ run faster. You said that it _should_ be running at 2.1GHz, and it technically shouldn't.
Please tell us your motherboard manufacturer/model and your current BIOS brand/version. Then we might actually be able to help you.
(Irrelevant to this, but I put my FSB up by about 3MHz and it made my 2200+ unstable. Ah well.)

If you want to overclock, and flash the bios, you need to get a clue 1st, honeslty. If you dont know what your doing when flashing the bios you will have a dead mobo.
