I'm planning a wwp snooper but need help.

problem is that how to make it logon to wormnet2?
i have no source codes for wormnet soo do i need to hex it? OR try to ask for the source code from Annelid's W:A snooper and figure it out of there?

help needed

presumably you just need to know the irc server and get the server to think that you are a copy of wwp and not something else.

current status:
step 1 (complete) :i've figured out the password that allows you to log in to wormnet via any IRC client. so step 1 is complete


step 2 (Working on): Now I need to figure out how to send a password request to the server so that it allows it to log on.


Step 3 (Awaiting Step 2 For Completion): Start Releasing Betas Until Version 1 Is Ready To Go. Beta 1 Will Be A Very Simple Snooper Client And Will Only Be able To Go To The #AnythingGoes Channel until i figure out how to list channels. Note That The WWP snooper make not ever be finished due to me being a n00b at Visual Basic 6.

could you not just post the irc server and password so we can use mIRC or whatever

if i did then don't you think team17 will start noticing mIRC clients? then they'll change the password again and thus making the wa snooper useless.


the only hint i'll give you is.
HEX edit the wa snooper to find it.

I doubt that they would care that we used Mirc to connect.

Interesting, you're using the FF_IRC code... That's what I based my mini IRC bot on. It's useful but I'd recommend starting from scratch as you need a seperate connection to the HTTP server, and a few slightly nonstandard irc bits.

I know that you think that password is special (the one with phil in it?), but it doesn't seem to be. Edit the password in a hex editor and the snooper will still work.

I would recommend getting a program like Ethereal and trying to reproduce exactly what the game does in your program.

heh well you gotta start somewhere well without the password you can't connect though any IRC client. i've tried it before with a different password on mIRC but it wouldn't allow it. going irc is the best way as i can keep it simple for now.

anyway i'll be working on it until it's good to go
