I was thinking as I browsed the forums I'm a member of and thought 'did my decision about registering at btp as my first forum affect how I'd percieve things or limit my access to other areas?'.

What I mean is, say I'd registered at a Quake or Counter-Strike forum as a first forum experience; would that changed how the online community percieve you as.

The worms community is very close but welcoming due to it's small long lasting niche. I think this community has taught me alot. I seriously doubt that a cs forum would've done the same. They seem cold and too expansive to have a decent relationship between members or an actual sense of community.

I mean all my online movements and choices have been influenced by worms in one or another. I discovered weebl and bob through a flag being uploaded to btp.

I got into animation due to a vast array of resources to animate worms with.

This is probably too thoughtful for some but I'd just like to thank btp for having a forum. Without it, much of what I know now, graphics, animation, coding, internet history and customs, I'd have not known about or gotten into.

A Toast To BTP!

I totally agree with you, this forum is not only a forum, it is a real community, and I have learnt a lot browsing in it, not only about worms, but also about online etiquette and behaviour, and what playing a game really is and means.

Like you, I doubt I would learn as much on forums of other games. The bad thing with me is that I didn't post earlier, since I am not a recent member. I first registered to put my maps online when I made some, but I didn't know at the time what was really a community. Of course I don't know, yet, all the "rules" and tips to be a good member, I hope I didn't behave too stupidly, in posts or comments, because I want to to be part of this community, though my english is not at the top, which sometimes makes me misunderstand things and reply... weirdly.

That's why I just bought W:A yesterday, which I really like too, and the patches are really wonderful for me, playing years in 1024*768, hehe. So now I'll be on W:A & WWP.

Last point : BTP is gigantic, full of nice features, like word association, proper excuses, fictoleague, games, pixville, which I really like too.

Long live the BTP community !

"To BTP, For some reason which will come to me by the end of this post"

I understand what your saying....Sorta.
Has BTP as the first forum I joined changed the way I go through the internet?(Or something like that) I discovered BTP through a person I played on WN2 when I was a wee newb. Having now stayed here for quite a while, I've sunken into the community. Had I of joined my second forum (Nuklear power) first, Would I of been more FF orientated here like I am Worms orientated there?

WTF am I on about? All that would be differant if I was at NP 1st is I would be less Sig orientated (text sigs only).

To BTP, Brigger of sigs

Indeed, drinks and cigars for all. Zogger did a excelent job writing the forum himself too. A toast to Zog!

Hey Pope, if you wish to expand your intellect with forums, check out http://www.sciforums.com/ . The community there is excelent, and there is a forum (sub forum) for any discussion you can think of. I got hooked on that place a while back, I still go there often.

Well, I can't say that BTP really influenced me as much since I was first on the T17 forums, but congratulations to all anyways :D.

I'd have to agree. BTP wasn't my first forum, but one of the first I came to, and it's been great. Although it does cause random insane outbursts.

BTP has taught me alot. It's taught me how to behave and how to be a good forum member. At first I was a n00b but I realised that that isn't the way to go.

I wouldn't say it was the forums that taught me, I'd say it was the members in the forums. :D

Thanks

I would find exactly what it was he posted onto every single comments page, but I can't really be bothered... ;). Something about his address and the "SPLIT THE PIXEL FUND"

this was one of the 1st forums i joined. and certainly is the one i spend most of time plastering about on.

I think its the fact i know most members now.

BTP is a real close community. Compared some other forums i frequent. It had been a long time since i played worms before i bought WA and i was still coming here.

what can i say. It great.
