I'm all very new to paying for webhosting, so I need some advice...
I really haven't looked out for the best deals when paying for webhosting since all I've used is tripod.co.uk for free. My idea of a good bargain is something for nothing but I'm prepared to pay for something now.
Let's not exagerate how much I'm willing to pay though. £3 to £4 at most really. ($5.37 to $7.16 for you americans).
I might might try my hand at php some time so I'd like a site that allows php. (I could be asking a moronic question, I don't know. That's why I need help.)
Also another thing puzzles me. For a while I thought webhosting always came with domain names but I discovered after being on btp for a bit that sometimes they are not included. How does the domain thing work?
In short, I need some help with choosing the right webhosting for me.
TIA

all I can say is http://www.surpasshosting.com
Some hosts supply domains, but on virtually all of them it is optional. Surpass do domains too, but my domain hosting is with joker.com - I prefer to use a seperate registrar, so you don't have any issues with changing the DNS, but you won't have that problem with surpass anyway, because the domain account is not tied to the hosting account if you don't want it io be.
My hosting plan is just $4.95 / mo, which is amazing value for the 40GB of bandwidth and 2GB of space. As well as subdomains and all that. The plan is actually only a 30GB plan, but we get the extra 10GB for sticking their link down the bottom of the page. Although (agh) I've just noiced it's missing. I'm all to happy to advertise for them, because they are the best host I've been with, and they deserve it. Good customer service, and interaction. They have a forum on which the staff members do post... It's good
edit: the extra 10GB bandwidth thread is here, should you want it, but you probably don't. You won't need as much bandwidth as you get in their plans.

Thanks, 30gb bandwidth is great for me along with the 2gb storage. No additional fees, no minimum contract and allows flash and all the other gubbins.
Decided to see if www.gfxjunkie.com (thanks wish ) was avaliable, and fortunetly, was. So that's £6.60 for one year sorted (I'll get the hosting and domain once I ask my dad that I can use card and will in turn have to persuade him greatly by pointing to the firewall, secure connection and data encrypted sending).
The days of using tripod have come to an end! Huzzah!
Ty zog for the links. As always btp shall be first on the links page

http://66-195-16-79.gen.twtelecom.net/~gfxjunk/ is a temporary link to the site until www.gfxjunkie.com works in 1-2 days.

Not sure. I used 911 Porsche with no anti alias at size 10.
http://members.lycos.co.uk/randomimages2/ and then click por2.ttf for the font.
Although I was slightly inspired by your design, so I'll end up giving you a mention and your design in the history.
