Oh, at last someone who doesn't hate IE. What is wrong with IE, which is better in Mozilla?

Text sigs slow down loading in all browsers, you just can't see it in IE because it only shows you the page once it's finished loading it. Whereas in a good browser it shows you everything it's loaded so far, you can see precisely where a page gets stuck, and it's where the text sigs are. I first found this when I used IE long ago, but it took me a long time to work it out because of the way it draws the pages.

That's not a big problem for me.

If text sigs slow down a page, then how much more so do images slow down a page. Well, they don't really, but they have to wait until the page base has loaded before appearing. So, after the page loads, there is a chance of broken images, especially when you've just cleared out your Temp Internet Files. Personally, I think that's more annoying than a text sig that slows down the page by a second or two.

And BTW, it took me seven seconds to load this page after I submitted the post. That's hardly much slowdown.
