okay, so the other thread isn't very well named..


If you read the news, all the files were lost, iso we've started them again. It's been less than 2 days and we already have 150+ maps, so we're doing pretty well . Resubmit your maps and help the cause!

tried to find a topic for that cos i thought it wa sometin like that ....but didint find nethin ...sigh x 2

btw is thre a way to send u mappacks and submit them at once?

Make sure you download the evaluation copy, and not the beta copy. The beta's files are not compatable with previous versions...

zipping all the maps together is sometin i dislike...i want ppl to see previews and chk out which map they want to download ...thats all

it would be nice if we knewhow to turn the BIT format into a PNG. However, we don't. If we knew that, though, we could let you just upload BITs and have previews generated automatically. It would even be possible to upload something like a zip with a bunch of BITs in, and a text file listing the map titles, descriptions, authors, filetypes etc, then have it parse that and upload them all individually. Or we could have a downloadable program where you just select the maps you want and it uploads them for you.

however, we don't have the bit file info. And I wouldn't have a clue how to do half of it if we did.

Actually Zog, if you could ask Annilid for the source to his BITMonkey, i'd probably be able to plot the BIT to a PNG via GD in PHP, and have the previews.

Of corse that assumes Annelid is willing to part with his code and/or the specs of the file format.

heh, I doubt it - I don't think he playts worms anymore, let alone visits btp.

how about some sort of batch processing thingy? u upload a tab delimited file with the info needed for uploading and it goes thru and does them all?

i doubt he does either. He hasnt been on worms for ages. And hasnt made any new proggies.
