Unless 20 Users* vote not to, I will be doing a mass re-calculation of post counts and thread counts.

What does this mean?
Basicly, it means that posts and threads that have been deleted no longer will count to your counts. The reasoning is that if a post was bad enough to be deleted, you shouldn't be marked as havign made the post at all.

*When I say 20 users vote no, i mean 20 MORE users then those who vote yes. Abstaining will count as a yes. This means that in order for me not to recalulate the totals, the number of "no" votes - 20 must be over number of abstain votes plus number of yes votes.

PS: Once this is done, deleting a post / thread will lower the post counts of the authors. (as it should be)

PPS: This will take effect Saturday Febuary 21st if the required number of "no"s are not received.

And: Read this entire thread before voting so you concider both sides of the issue.

Also:
If someone bribes someone or convinces someone to vote a certain way (to vote a way they don't think is right) and I find out, actions will be taken.

I voted yes because it is only fair that the posts which were deleted be removed.


Reasons why you should vote Yes:

1. Most ppl on BTP are good, so have nothing to worry about.

2. If you are one of the people that had post(s) deleted then it won't be so dramatic that you'll notice anything.

3. The again if your one of the ppl with a post deleted you probably won't be a regular to the forums or you're already banned or hindered in some way with User ratings.

Few my posts from past are deleted, but it is not big deal

does this include the posts that are removed if a forum gets deleted, or just threads?

if it's just threads, then yes, if it's forums, then no. I'll click the button when you tell me .

i vote yes, cos sum 1 could get their post count up by posting and then deleting their post asap
although im sure that there is no one here that sad to actually do that.

cos sum 1 could vote no, sign up as a diff user, vote no and continue doing so which ruins the entire thing

Uh, as admins, they can see everyone who votes on this poll, so yes, I'm assuming they are monortering this poll.

Also, something I've been thinking about, you may consider adding a new system for Mods and Admins as regards to deleting threads. Why you ask? Because one could easily delete a thread that may have a large amount of posts for no reason other than to drop others post counts. Not to say they would, but you know the other saying 'Absolute power corrupts absolutely' (or something like that).

lol, gd idea. Mutiny or defection or whatever you want to call it would wreak havoc in the mind of a mod.....or admin

Zog: I'm not sure if deleting a forum ieterates through each thread and post, but if it does and deletes them it will reduce the count.

Any forums / threads / posts already gone can't be accounted for, obviously

I suppose if we wanted to keep counts from other forums, we could add a coloumn called "savedposts" an upon forum deletion total up the # of posts that will be removed and store it, but I don't think its necessary to count deleted forums.

Maybe another poll for that then
