That'd be my new one. I need more RAM as well, and will get some as soon as I can afford it (need a bigger hdd too... heh heh).

Also, thinking about overclocking it a bit more. It's running at 40 C on some load (32 idle), any recommendations?

Runnin at 3.13GHz now (turned the overclock up). Seems to stay near the same temp, 33C, sometimes goes over 40. Lookin' good.

Alright, my stupid question time! (yay). Is it possible to get those custome status' to go with the sig scripts? Like, when my Seph pic is up, I want it to say One-Winged Angel, and when my Frog pick is up, make it say Masamune Wielder. And the titles would not come up with the wrong pic (ie, Frog pic up, and it says One-Winged Angel). Just wondering...

heh, no it woudn't be possible to link them like that, but you could juist add some text to the top of the image, and mabe add a space to your status in the profile, that way it wouldn't show up as statusless.

In case you were wondering, I have an Athlon XP 2200+ (1.81Ghz). And it's SDRAM. Currently running at 48 degrees C, is it worth overclocking?

I don't have much experience overclocking, I just know how to do it. So I dont know how hot a processor can get... I just know the colder you can keep it, the faster you can run it. You probably wouldn't have the best luck overclocking it though from what I hear about Athlons.

How do u see the temperature of ur system?

I don't know about others, but my mainboard came with a CD that has a hardware monitor program on it. If you don't have one, you should be able to download one from your mainboard manufacturer (mine is here).

I might overclock by 1Mhz just because I can.

In about 2 hours my room becomes like a sauna.
Probably because the door to the computer room is closed and it's a tiny room. But lucky for me i like saunas

uh, the athlon 2500xp is one of the best overclockers. It is possible to get it to run faster than a stock 3200xp.

Which may i add is more than 3x the price.

So yeah the athlons overclock well. IMO.

Otherwise the article in the magazine in meh bag wouldnt have used it as the base computer for thier feature on overclocking.


I would say its dependasn on yer mobo. And how cool u can get it, although athlons can run a bit hotter than pentiums, and still be ok
