I want something which can handle HL2 and Far Cry. That is the list of games I'll be buying this year...

So no need for anything big or brilliant. I make graphics and websites more than play games...

So no real need for something beefy.

I also need to convince my parents a scanner would be good for everyone. I got some seriously good stuff to scan in off the back off school books. It's annoying to have to do it secretly in IT lessons since it's 'banned' from use. What could I put forward to help my argument?

try "my handwriting is poor, i can scan it in and tidy it up using the computer!"

gfx wise, if you want hl and fc to look as good as the can be you need to spend more on a more capable card.

What I have is fine to handle FC and HL2. I've been assured. So

I can't decide what to buy because I'm so awe inspired by FarCry, it's as if there's nothing which could better it. But I need something to take my mind off waiting until it's released on 26th March.

I'm slightly tempted by Call of Duty but it doesn't look as if it's got a gd multiplayer...

Reviews and suggestions for games to buy which are out atm please.

(£60 will go into getting a scanner if I can't blag that through my dad's workplace too. So that's about £50 left to buy a decent game or two)
