i have no problems with tripod.co.uk. I use it all the time.

And, simce im in firebird, I blocked the javascript that loads the top banner with Adblock plugin. My site is ad-free with the right tools :)

OTOH, if any skilled js ppl want to help me debunk tripod.co.uk's code about the ad frame, contact me.

i managed to disable ads once on a tripod site but it only worked on one page and i couldent work out how 2 doit.

but ill keep you in mind cb when i get ma new pc.
coz when i got my new pc im gonna start to learn new things like php and stuff.

you can use tripod for php (I think it's like the only free thing which allows PHP) You can get a PHP forum at www.phpbb.com or err don't know the address but look for "Invision Powerboard" in Google. However with Invision, the Admin CP is messed up by the ads and it is VERY frustrating so I'd suggest getting phpbb....or you could host on some of the other wormy forums, like others have suggested.

re - Debunking Tripod.

I looked at the code to insert the ad frame and it only messes with your page if you're not in a frameset or the address bar location doesn't contain lycos.co.uk. This frameset works (The Pope's site, for example):
