I'm not sure if there's actually a maximum on BlameThePixel, but they can be different sizes. Anything 100x100 pixels or smaller is a good idea in general.

most forums have about 100x100 max, or 64x64 if they want to be real tight-asses (or thats what works, whichever). I try to keep mine as close to 1x1 as possible.

On Team17 Forums it's 50x50.
On BTP I like to think that there are few formal limits, as long as you don't overly annoy the admins.

ok, enough already, what is that 'Steal this sig' thing supposed to do?
It's broken in moz due a abs pos bug within a table but as far as i can see it's intented to sit in the top left of the page??
For some i see it sometimes, and as soon as i go to drag it - blam! gone.

ya t17 sucks like hairly balls tho. You cant have html in sigs, you cant have images in sigs, you have to have small avatars, and stuff. In my eyes it's very crappily set up.

lol, I think that's what's suppose to happen, ReadMe. There's no error msg or anything, but the same thing happens in IE.

I'm not quite sure what it's meant to do either. I just put position: absolute on something by accident and it dissappeared whenever I dragged it. It also stays still as the page and its images load so it sometimes ends up inside someone else's post in Mozilla.
Just interested me at first, that's all. I'll get bored of it soon.
