I have made a MIDI file that I want to put in a game, but then it won't sound the same on all computers. So therefore I would like to convert it to MOD, but are there any good programs for this? I've tried one DOS-based, but it was not what I wanted it to be. Do you know any MID to MOD progs?

thats not for mid>mod, its not that easy to convert them, you need the samples and stuff because thats what mods are made of. i have a mod>mid somewhere but thats all.

I've never even heard of a MOD file before, but I know that you can plug your speaker line out straight into your mic or line-in and record the MID to WAV that way. Have your computer off when you change the plugs of course.

If we did we would tell you, You would need the samples anyway, thats the way mods work. Just get mp3 music, or use Total Recorder to record it to mp3

What do you mean with 'need the samples'? I have the MIDI file, isn't that enough? And I want MOD, not MP3!

No, its not enough, MIDI has the instruments on its memory, MOD files need wave files to put the song together, so like if there was drums in a MOD file, there would be a sample in it that is like a drum noise, and like that. Its not complicated, but if you where going to conver a MIDI to MOD you would need the samples because you can't make a MOD out of nothing. You'd probally need lots...
By god, this is the longest post I've ever done

im sure one exists, you need samples for midi anyway - get a prog to steal the generic samples from windows's midi file

Yes you do need to turn your computer off when you are plugging and unplugging things to your sound card, and no it is not because of electrocution. It is because of static electricity, your sound card gets zapped and then it does not work until you have turned your computer off and back on again... maybe that doesn't happen with all computers but it happens with some.

sound cards and the like can get hit by static electricity just as easily with the computer on as with if off (afaik), you just need to be careful. however i would never suggest messing with hardware on the inside of your computer while it's running. you never know what may happen with different hardware.

well what happens to me is that when plugging in different speakers or something, the sound won't work any more unless the computer has been turned off and then turned back on afterwards
