na kazaa's bad. I'm one to talk seeing as it's on my computer. But my sister's the worst bitch in the world so i cant delete it or she'll bitch out of me for weeks and reinstall it anyways. (it has spywear) (cant work if u delete spywear) Also i posted about that because i posted to say sorry to readme.

1. Remove Kazaa.
2. Run Spybot Search & Destroy
3. Install Kazaa Lite K++.

Kazaa does act as a webserver by the way, but I don't think it's usually on port 80.

When data is sent by your computer, it is addressed to a port number (out of 65535 I think). This port number tells the web/email/ftp/whatever server which program to give the data to. Port 80 is the normal port which web servers use, so a link like http://www.blamethepixel.com/ refers to port 80. A link such as http://www.blamethepixel.com:8010/ (doesn't work) refers to port 8010. If you find the IP address of a machine running Kazaa, you can list its shared files by going to http://the.i.p.address:1214/ - which is probably a security risk.

Original Kazaa, minus spyware, equals Kazaa Lite. It's exactly the same network with exactly the same files, but it's fooled into not running the spy/adware. K++ also includes some other useful stuff such as a participation level cheater and an anti-RIAA firewall.

ok also my friend said he got a virus from it and then he uninstalled it and then it was fine..can u say sumthing to that?
also wats the link to download kazaa lite because i cant find it at the site above..

Not sure. Lots of viruses/worms do spread by dropping a copy in your Kazaa shared folder calling themselves "Windows XP Keygen!" or something like that. Always have a virus scanner.
Or there could be the point of view that many consider original Kazaa itself as a form of virus...
