i installed media player 9 a lonmg time ago and its gr8 but now it sez i dont have a dvd decoder wtf!

i could play dvds b4 no probs

maybe its wmp9 but i dont know plz help cos decoders cost money and i dont wanna format the hard disc!

maybe ur DVD is from the wrong region?

nope cos its fine on all dvd players cept the pc, i get error no decoder message but i definintly could play them b4

izit possible your media player is hooked up to the net automatically? cause if so, somtimes it upgrdes crap w/o yer consent...which could mean imcompatible hardwre.

dont use WMP to play dvds. get intervideo WinDVD recorder. it isnt free tho. ah! and its regionless.

kind of stupid thing to say but why not just play your dvds on your dvd player!

Everyone doesn't have a DVD player except the one in your computer.

ive also stopped caring since it was media player 9. got a dvd player and a ps2 anyway

he said at the beginning of this thread that it worked fine on all dvd players which sort of implied that he had one.

i play dvds on pc
i install media player 9
i can no longer play dvds on PC! because of media player nine

i say that this thread is long dead because
LISTEN I HAVE A SEPERATE! DVD PLAYER AND ( AND ALSO ASWELL AS ETC ) A PLAYSTATION 2

therefore as it wa spreviously inconvienent and annoying it is now irrelevant because to fix this problem hassle free would involve formatting hard disk

reason: i found out that media player nines installation removed my dvd decoder. I have only found this out recently. Therefore i cannot uninstall mp9 ( windows installed this as an upgrade that integrates into the OS and can only be removed via a system restore point, of which i had none after nasty virus, that i removed. )

this WAS annoying but no longer is for reasons stated above :p

did u install any games recently?
i think i had the same problem when i reinstalled worms or a game,
i re-intsalled direct -x
and that reinstalled wmp.
so re-dl the codecs, i think u can get em all
at some site, like divx too, search around

wtf are codecs when there at home.
