In a vast universe expanding at the speed of light, you are nothing. There is no meaning of life. But you deserve a chance to choose how you spend your life. If you are not doing exactly what you want then you are not free. If you intend to compromise the freedom of others then you must be terminated. In the shadow of your insignificance there is no room for war and conflict. Be at peace.

I suppose that's one "good" thing about my degree (aero engineering), there aren't too many terms/words/etc that have "alternative" meanings.
What, like cockpits, turboshafts, thrust, nozzles, corkscrews, ram drag, payload, flaps, and wind tunnels?

Methinks I think to much :D I think the conclusion of all that thinking has been reached though. I think now I'll go to bed and think some more, anyway what do you think about what I've been thinking about so far?

;) ;) ;)

Anyone else got a philosophy on life?

A Philosophy?
'k, here's a couple on certain situations:

Life:
Everything in life needs balance or it falls over, you cannot be happy all the time, neither is it healthy to be continually depressed. Only through balancing your day to day activities will you achieve a state of harmony with your mind, body & spirit.

Violence:
When adopting the philosophy of an eye for an eye, you must be careful to realise that, if you are the initial victim, you are short one eye before you have even acted. Pre-emptive measures should be taken to ensure you keep your vision intact.
Nor is the philosophy of turn the other cheek in any way beneficial. Why be struck twice? Instead stamp down on the kneecap of the aggressor, then, while he lies on the ground trying frantically to re-attach his knee-cap, grab his hand (The one that struck you) and punch into the back of it with all the force you can muster. The small bones in the back of the hand are easily broken and he'll think twice about striking you again.
The laws vary from country to country, however, there seems to be a common, underlying principle of being limited to the use of 'Reasonable force' to deal an attacker, mugger, robber. Fuck that, reasonable force is using enough force to make him reasonably sorry he ever crossed your path.

i truely agree to your balance thingy.

And about voilence, it seems to be something of human nature, people wanting to destroy others. Just think of the upcoming war in iraq. Thousends, if not hundreds of thousends of people are going to lose there lives in it. And for what? The destruction of a dictatorship? To destroy one man, thousends need to die?

What those guys are doing over there can in no way be justified, there plans for mass destruction have to be stopped, but lowering ourselves to there level makes us the terrorists. As a matter of fact, the odds of this battle are so unfair that there's no point in fighting, They've prettymuch lost the moment the first soldier puts his boot in the desert sand. And killing the people who have no chance of defending themselves is in any book called genoside. This battle is so unfair it's like fighting a tank with a bow and arrow.

It's the old rules that should be gone rid off. The unspoken rule, that the leader can not die before his troops have been defeated. If they'd really be after sadam they could send down 3 helis with a couple of commandows and capture him. But the american people want to see blood, they want to see revange for what has been done to them on 11th of september.

This war will happen, no doubt about it, USA is in too deep to turn back. But that doesn't mean u have to aproof of the killing.

Don't think that my stances on self-protection are carried over to my international views. I totally agree that the US, and the idiots here in the UK that follow them obediantly, are completely in the wrong.
Basically their reasoning for going to war is that 'they have weapons & might use them' which really justifies any country attacking the US or the UK as both have weapons and seem all too keen to fucking use them.

My philosophy on violence is purely from a self preservation point of view.

gah, Mr Bush is as bad as Hussain. He fixed the election and as he was climbing up the political ladder he passed a huge number of death sentances so certain ppl would vote for him. Death sentances is what he is issuing at the moment with iraq:( I think Chirac is great with his handling of it, Shroeder is good, Putin is good, wtf is Blair doing(makes u embarrased to even be living in Brittain). The European countries should make a stand to block this, put troops in Iraq if need be, Bush wont attack then cause if he did...well...there are a lot of ppl that he a=has infuriarated who would only be to happy for an exuse to get him.

my philosophy of life:
"eat doughnuts. eat cheese. eat burguers. eat at joe's!"
another:
"be happy, and you will be happy, i swear!"
another:
"if you feel you're not worth living, then you are not worth living"
