I dunno, the press don't like her for some reason. They criticized her for recording backing vocals for her performance.

Not all the finalists are there for their vocal performance either. It's not the vocals that makes the performance, it's being able to project energy around the venue. She's able to do that.
Also, I'd imagine that it would be tough to pull off a mind-blowing performance if you're one who judges them. You would probably be a lot harder on yourself. The people who work in the press don't what it's like to go through that, so it's easy for them to criticize.

But really, I'm defending Cheryl cause she's hot. Yes, I believe she can sing, and when she moves, I find her irresistibly sexy. That sexiness is what makes her performances worth watching.
